A lot of people know this TV Show; it's about Tyra Banks finding about 14 people in American who want to be models, putting them in a house, giving them challenges & sending a girl home each week until there's a winner. This usually lasts for about 14 weeks, give or take.
Now, the reason Tyra Banks started this show is because she went through the modeling industry and so knows how hard and how much of a challenge it is for people to get there even if they have amazing modeling potential. So, she created this show to give people a chance at their dream. Very sweet, right?
Well, that's how it started, but as life goes on, things may start as a sweet gesture but it could then become something more selfish, it happens a lot. And that is what I have witnessed with America's Next Top Model. It started off as a soul interest of giving a leg up to some girls with their careers and starting one girl off, yes it was a TV Show straight off but now it seems as though all the attention has been centered around the viewer more than anything. And yes, yes I know, that's the industry, this is how things work but it seems that its going very far just to please the public.
In Cycle 17 you can see how much the Entertainment Industry has involved itself with this Reality TV Show; in every episode there's a guest star; Nicki Minaj, The Kardashians, Game, Ashlee Simpson etc. Of course that's a gimmick to get more people to watch or to make sure that fans are even more interested but it shows how much the Entertainment industry is blending together now, coming as one let’s say.
Have you ever thought of why this is so? Why the Entertainment is doing so much now and blending and combining?
As Tyra Banks said in the very interesting Episode 8 Cycle 17; "Now people are hearing music with their eyes, you need to be able to sell everything..." ..
"People are hearing music with their eyes".. It's an interesting thing to say don't you think? & it's true.. People don't really listen to what..well what their listening to. They wait for the music videos they want to see the music videos now more than they just want to hear the songs, and even if they hear the songs they want to see the person behind the voice. It's all about the visual nowadays. You gotta look like this, wear this, put that on to get to the top because if you don't you don't have that IT factor.
Look at all the people who are coming into the Entertainment industry now, they all have specific kind of faces. Talent isn't needed anymore it's just; "You gotta face, you gotta hot body & you're willing to do whatever it takes? You're in." Because nowadays even if you don't have talent theirs technology and other people that can fix that.
But back to America's Next Top Model. Another thing that's very interesting in that same episode is that the girls had to write a song and they made a music video to go along with it. However, after writing the song they had incorporate something with that song; "POT LEDOM". Now, what the hell is 'POT LEDOM'?
'POT LEDOM' is Top Model backwards.
Now.. what is the reason for this? The girls singing and making a music video etc. are understandable, helps them branch out etc etc. but why incorporate that? If she said Top Model then fine but why 'POT LEDOM'? Why Tope Model backwards? Those words as well 'POT LEDOM is Top Model backwards', they had to incorporate that into their song.
And in a previous post I talked about Beyoncé and her song Signs that has a part where she sings backwards so isn't this a sign from the Entertainment industry themselves?
Their flaunting the ways that they brainwash us with. They don't really care anymore and their just letting it all out. I think their doing this to just let everyone believe it's a normal and fine thing to do and it's not secret and so they’re not using it in a bad way but a good one..
As well as this, America's Next Top Model is a relaity show & so isn't that why people watch it, for that sense of realism? So why, in the finale did they re-shoot the final bit after finding out Angelea had leaked information on Facebook? To make it a proper 'reality' show, why not keep whatever they had filmed, re-shot and shown both clips showing Tyra crown whoever the winner & then the twist 'BOOM' no wait producers now found out etc etc etc so we have to re-shoot and crown a new winner because Angelea is disqualified. They acted, their making it faker than it already is. That aint reality then. Everything is getting faker and faker by the day.. We need to see that..
